with three identical consecutive characters occur to me, but here's one, based
on U.S. English:

I find that the given example with tre{1,2} does not illustrate at all what
the expression does.
Proposal: something like
m{2.3} will find 'common' and 'commmon' but not 'come'.
Feel free to find an example with more realistic words ;)
