AW-gyuris: aw081 is a CWS, but no need for You to check until it's integrated
in the master. Just follow the task further and You can check when CWS aw081
gets/is integrated in the then next available snapshot. Thanks for Your

AW: Simplified SdrPathPrimitive2D::create2DDecomposition, removed
correctOrientations there (and added a comment of course). Indeed, this was the
botlleneck. Caveat is to think about evtl. needed correctOrientations when the
primitive result is somehow processed further.

AW: Took a look, seems to have to do with polygon complexity. Indeed, as a
single polygon a lot of time is used (and needed) to ensure the order of the
sub-polygons when the visualisation is created. To do so, each partial polygon
has to be checked if it's inside another partial polygon, leading to O(n*n)
runtime.
I have to check if this is necessary, but i think for visualisation this might
be left out

I think I found something: I do not think the Writer is responsible for the
regression, but the Draw, or change the graphical sublayer.

Since the drawings were the problem, I focused on drawing.

1st observation: The drawings are opened much more slowly during 3.1 and 3.2
than in 3.0 (in Ooo Draw)
2st observation: There are no problems with drawing, which I draw with OOo
Draw. Problem is only with the drawings, which I trace with Inkscape and
imported form SVG.
3st observation: What is common in these? The drawing are a bit of a long
Bézier curve.

I think, the problem is with drawings, which include long (about 1000 nodes)
Bézier curves. So, I made a simple testcase: Same draw
a) 1 long Bézier curve (see attachment 68511)
b) 90 shorter Bézier curve (see attachment 68512)
The test was confirmed. In any setting (anti-aliasing on/off, dragging
shadow on/off), the 3.0 open the two files quickly (same time), but 3.1 open
slower, and 3.2 more slowly the file (a). The dragging on the screen is much
slower too.

Perhaps this is related to i105769 as well?

I believe my experience confirms, although it is slightly different which also
may add something:
--In a long document with 100 copies of an imported eps file (aside: it was then
shrunk and used instead of a symbol character between pages of text), this
occurs:
1. In OO 3.1 on 900mhz Thinkpad Linux Ubuntu, it takes a couple of minutes to
scroll or display past any grapic section or many minutes to save, and is
unusable.
2. In NeoOffice 3.0 on Mac 1.4Ghz (I assume built on OO 3.0), same file only
pauses a second or two during scroll past graphic sections, and saves in 5
seconds.
3. In both cases, FODT of the same file is far faster, although the difference
is much greater in the OO 3.1 version.

In other words the FODT is usable in both cases and may only exhibit the
predictable difference from the faster machine on the Mac, whereas the ODT is
clearly different for some other reason.

This would mean that this bug also happens with an imported eps file -- at least
one that is copied many times.

The original document contained many graphics and drawing objects. I separated
the graphics objects and drawing objects. See the last attachments. The
document, which contains only graphic objects, opened quickly. The other
document, which contains only the drawing objects, opened (displayed) very long:
same time, as the original. So - in my opinion - we can narrow the bug:
displaying drawing objects.
Can I help you something else?
