New problems might be related to (or DUP of) Issue 112275?

I think this bug needs to be re-opened. I downloaded the latest version from the
website (3.2.1 for Linux 64-bit)

Install went just fine, no errors. I created a simple document, a database,
linked some fields, tried to print and got the same problem. The fields are
blank even though I can verify that the database connection is good, when
checking data sources, I can see all the fields are linked to valid data.

So I don't think this bug have been fixed as I can verify that it still exist
for Open Office 3.2.X for both Linux and Windows.

This bug still exist for Open Office 3.2 for Windows XP release downloaded
5/5/2010, installed on a fresh system. Created all documents and simple database
from scratch, did a simple form and test print.

Fields still come up blank. Haven't tried for Linux yet, though I might have
better luck since it appears to have worked for others.

Issue Lifeciycle:
FIXED: A fix for this issue is checked into the source code repository and
tested.

Please don't close issues as FIXED if you can't specify the FIX that solved the
problem. For my thoughts concerning relations between issues with nebulous
reasons it's a big difference whether an issue, that might be related, has been
closed as FIXED (reasons for the problem have been found and eliminated by a
fix) or WORKS FOR ME (problem has vanished, nobody knows why).

b4k4,
could you please check if the problem still occurs in OOo 3.2 - there have been
some bugfixes around mailmerge and printing form letters.

I can confirm this bug, I noticed it right after I went from Open Office 3.0 to
3.1 right away (I use it to print bills for a business)

After fighting it for hours trying to figure why it wouldn't work (create a new
data base, new document, attach fields, test printing), I'm glad to see that it
wasn't just me but appears to be a real bug. So, I'll have to switch back to
Open Office 3.0.X releases I guess until this is fixed.

Running Open Office 3.0.1 on Mandriva Linux 2009.1
Running Open Office 3.1.1 on Mandriva Linux 2010.0

Basically, when you print the forms with the database fields, they always come
out blank. So yeah, can be a big problem for us Open Office power users :-)

OOo 3.1.1 produces a single blank page. I had the same error with 3.1
also.

Sorry, mis-use of the word "error". There is no error. Writer appears to be
printing as normal.

the attachment contains a simple database, a writer template which contains
fields from the database, and two "printed" (to file) outputs, named after the
OOo version which was used.

The template was made by:
edit / exchange database / browse /define
then
insert / field /other / database / mail merge field /insert

The prints were made by
edit / exchange database / browse /define
followed by print / yes (form letter) / select all records / print to file /
single job (some screenshots illustrate this)

OOo 3.0.1 produces a record per page as expected
OOo 3.1.1 produces a single blank page. I had the same error with 3.1 also.

Exact build numbers are shown on the template.

Please ask if you need more detail. As you rightly note this is my first bug
report.

Can't remember to have seen anything unexpected with form letters with "Ooo
3.1.1 WIN XP DE[OOO310m19 (Build 9420)]".

This is not a valid bug report.

@b4k4:
Before you file further issues or post again here, please read our guidelines on
 and
, then
contribute a clear step by step instruction containing all observations (error
messages ...), _every_key_press_and_every_mouse_click_ how to reproduce the
problem, and explain why you believe that your results are unexpected.
That means (for example):
do not write something like „I am not able to ...“, but
„6. left mouse click on …
 expected: …, color of … changes, …
actual: no …., color remains white, no …

Screenshots might help to explain the problem.

Please attach a sample document!

In OOo 3.0 and earlier I can print a doc containing database or spreadsheet
fields (inserted via field/other). I choose "yes" to print a form letter and
then "print to file" and I get one doc per record in the database, or one page
per record if I choose "single file".

In OOo 3.1 and 3.1.1 this is broken. The print appears to go ahead as normal,
but only a single doc or a single page are output, and all the fields are blank
in them.
