I tested the file (see first attachment) with the actual german version 3.3.0
(OOO330m20(B:9567)) of OOo. I could not reproduce the bug with OOo 3.3.0. But
once, writer crashed when moving a picture over the text borders (I did send the
automatic crash report).

P.S.: The enhancement, mru mentioned, seems to be implemented. Or?

I've tried 5_times to upload my video. First as AVI. Four times as zip-file (35
MB) without success and without any error messages. Has anybody an idea, what's
wrong?

Sorry,
AVI is not accepted as valid mime-Type and then the zip-file seems not to be
uploaded, allthough no error message appeared.

Hello,

first a note to mru:
--->
I have testet now with StarOffice 7, SO 8 PP12, OOo 3.2.0 OOO330m12(Build 9483)
and OOo 3.3.0 RC7 (see above) and RC9 (OOO330m19 Build 9561; downloaded today,
12.1., from TU-Braunschweig), all running under Win 7 Pro x64.

The behaviour you described is not quite correct for the real software. All the
above versions behave identically.

If the mouse is draged to the ruler (2) or horiz. scrollbar (3), the text
scrolls slowly ("stop and go"), if the mouse is draged to the formatting bar (1)
or the status bar (4) the text scrolls quickly.

But only OOO330m17 and m19 show the bug(?), I described above.
<---

I now have made a video with CamStudio (open source, see camstudio.org; thanks
to Alexander Fritz for the tip) and uploaded it as attachment. Used is
OOO330m19B9561. The video shows one of many tests with similar results. You can
play it with the CamStudio player, VLC player or other... (I used CamStudio
player and VLC and prefer CamStudio for this purpose.)

1.
The first trial in the video shows a new bug(?) not seen in OOO330m17. I try to
drag down the picture "Fehler beim Speichern..." on page 3 of 5, the mouse
pointer (the "cross") disappears and then turns into the "normal" mouse pointer
"select/Auswahl" as f.e. is shown on the windows desktop, but with a "frame"
attached. (I clicked once and hold the left mouse button down all the time.)

If I moved _this_ mouse in other tests (not shown in this video), the "attached"
picture could be moved _in_ the whole text. Moving to a bar is "forbidden"
(perhaps this conforms to the design, mru mentions; no further tests).

2.
After releasing I click anew on the picture and drag it down by moving the mouse
on the status bar. After reaching the "right place", I move the mouse pointer
back in the text, but the text scrolls on. Dropping, click or double click in
the text do not stop scrolling. (With the other versions, scrolling stops
imediately after moving the mouse in the text).

3.
After that, I undo the changes and start draging to the formating bar. Now
draging back in the text stops scrolling. (All following trials show the same.)

Normaly I have the writer window (nearly) maximized to the height of 1200 pixels
minus height of the task bar (resolution 1920x1200; never full screen). I have a
(very weak) impression, that lowering the height of the writer window (less
than, say 1000 pix in my case) lowers the number of bug occurences.

One other remark. I don't think, it makes a difference, but nobody knows... SIW
shows the following hardware:

I have a motherboard Asus M2N-E with AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor
3800+ (CPU Code Name Windsor), 4 GB of memory (Supertalent and Hyundai
Electronics; a little bit "risky" as I experience sometimes), a Radeon X600
Graphics Adapter with MS WDDM-driver, resolution 1920 x 1200 32-bit-colour.

SIW shows the following about Windows (some, as I think, technical irrelevant
items deleted):

NameWindows 7 Professional x64
FeaturesTerminal Services in Remote Admin Mode, 64 Bit Edition, Media
Center
Edition,

Multiprocessor Free

That is not fully true. The mechanism is designed to react on the mouse pointers
position (the pike of the arrow). Scrolling works if the pike is near the end of
the viewing zone, but not when right over the ruler or any bar.
could be a good enhancement to the scrolling mechanism when it works also with
pointer over the scroll or tool bars.

OOo 3.3.0 RC7 / m17 (Build:9551), Win 7 Pro x64 (64 Bit)

If in a text document (*.odt) with gif or jpg pictures (see the attachment) I
drag a picture over the top or bottom bar of the text window, it scrolls
"automatically" ether to the top or bottom of the document if you move the mouse
curson (with the picture) to the formatting bar (1) or the status bar (4).

When moving to (2) or (3), I can drop the picture where I want.

ruler (horiz. Lineal)(2)
