TL->RGB: What version do you use?
I remember that sometime ago there was a fix that may/should have fixed a
similar  problem.
Using a current version sth like 680m79 should prove if your problem is fixed by
that as well.

I also has problems with adding new symbols: sometimes works, sometimes not. As
suggested by someone in http://www.oooforum.org/forum/index.phtml it could be a
problem with not true unicode fonts, but I'm not sure about that. The point is:
to add a symbol from, for example, the "Euclide Math Two" font (from
mathematica) only works within the math object where that symbol is defined: the
nexts math objects can't remember that symbol. With other fonts (like Times New
Roman) the process works well...
