Tested with 3.1.0, behavior has not changed. Using the ctrl modifier columns to
the right are shrinked proportionally. Using the shift modifier some columns to
the right of the resized column shrink to minimum size (defect?).

Personally I believe this would be a good enhancement. It can be very annoying
that when you widthen a column because something does not fit, other columns
shrink, causing their contents to not fit. Requiring the user to resize the
other columns as well.

There are two ways of resizing columns with the keyboard, the first one is with
the alt key, which resizes the table to the right, the second one with shift+alt
resizing the table to the left. I suggest implementing the same keyboard
modifiers for resizing with the mouse.
