That might be true,  but we cannot add a message for every feature in OO which
MS Word does not support, that Microsoft file format is NOT able to process 
this...

Man, are you joking with me? Of course you can have a variable date in a MS 
Word document. I'm doing this since several years.

No, I am not joking... we were talking about the fixed date field which Ms Word
does not suppert.
I never put Word's capability of a variable date in question.

 Word format currently does not support fixed date fields. Use variable date 
 field instead. 
  
This is not clear for me as a user. I select Insert - Field Command -  
Date. I do not care if this is a fixed or variable date format. I just want  
to have the date field. Are we maybe not talking about the same thing? I  
only use a German version, so maybe I have not translated the field term  
not correctly?!
