I'm not sure if there are any real restricted users in XP Home, though - I think all users have at least some administrative rights in XP Home. I'm attaching a screenshot of the errormessage. I agree it's not really an important issue - home users have root rights on their machine, and at work document conversion may often be done by the IT dept., who will know what to do. I tried it on both WinXP Home Edition and Linux FC4: (1) On WinXp Home Ed., I created a new user with Limited priviledge and successfully converted Excel docs using the conversion wizard. (2) Same conversions were successful using Fedora Core. I did not need root priviledges.
