It seems to work fine for. If you set the form-control to Multi-Line with formatting the Left-To-Right and Right-To-Left buttons are there and functional. Of course (as with all CTL support) you need to have the check box Enable for complex tex layout in the dialog Tools/Options/Language Settings - Languages checked. For multi-line with formating it does work.
