Closing issue. It is not reproducible to me and it does not seem that it is
really of interest anymore.

Just to clarify here, is this openoffice.org as provided by fedora, or
openoffice.org as provided direct from www.openoffice.org. It matters because
the fedora OOo uses gstreamer for videos, while the www.openoffice.org vanilla
one uses the JMF

I think, the native OOo build is used by aziem, right?

So there are no cmc-modifications here ;-), so I didn't break it anyway.

It's also tricky for me to reproduce this as we don't use either sun java or the
JMF by default or even provide fedora packages of them :-(

MRU-aziem: I do not think, that this is a bug in OOo... I mean, it works on
OOo+SUSE, OOo+Fedora6 but not on Fedora 5... What is your opinion?

My home computer now has Fedora 7, and I can reproduce the bug with F7 and OOo
2.2.1 under GNOME 2.18. I am not sure where exactly the bug is (whether OOo or
some other code), but I admit it's not widely serious. I will mark this P4.

I'm sorry, but I am still not able to reproduce the issue.
The movie object will be positioned outside the frame, but no refreshing of the
object or growing of the frame will be notices. Do you insert the object into a
special document?

I do not use a special document. Instead, I start with a blank document
according to the procedure I provided. My Linux system was Fedora 5.

Now I cannot reproduce on Windows XP SP2 + OOo 2.1; or Fedora 6 + OOo 2.2rc3; or
Fedora 6 + OOo 2.1. If it would help, I can re-test Fedora 5. Let me know.

Maybe, it was a problem with the JMF installation on your Fedora5 system?
Well, We both cannot reproduce this on Windows, you cannot on Fedora 6 and I
cannot on SuSe 10.x... suspicious... ;-)

I still see the problem on Fedora Core 5, OpenOffice.org 2.2RC3, Sun JRE
1.5.0_09, JMF 2.1.1e.

My Fedora Core 5 JMF seems OK because I can still play the video and hear the
sound. Actually, I think the JMF installed from the same RPM as the FC6.

The latest snapshot is 188, but I also found OOE680_m2 (build 9086; 8 Nov 2006)
on a mirror. The OOE680_m2 version still has this problem.

I tested this with 680m190 and JMF on SUSE 10.1. But the problem as you
described did not occur. Could you please also have a look with 680m190? Thanks

To reproduce:
1. Start Writer
2. Insert-Movie and Sound: http://fredrik.hubbe.net/plugger/testold.avi (other
movies probably work the same)
3. Create a frame smaller than the video
4. Copy the video to the clipboard
5. Paste the video into the frame

Results:
OpenOffice.org refreshes the screen many times while doing what looks like
zooming in. The application window grows larger with each refresh. The CPU
usage stays high. The memory consumption may climb steadily or bounce wildly.
It may be possible to close the application properly.

System:
- OOo 680m188 (2.1 snapshot)
- Linux
- Sun JRE 1.5.0_07
- JMF 2.1.1e
