I can't reproduce the problem with OOo 2.3.1 under MS-Windows XP.

@ecdowney: have you tried after having renamed your configuration
directory .openoffice.org2 to force OOo to create a new one ?

Thanks for checking 2.4 RC1. I don't want to try that but I will mention the
problem still occurs in 2.3. Running SuSE 10.

I checked with
- 2.2.0RC4 German version WIN XP: [680m14(Build9134)]
- 2.2.0 Dev. Snapshot WIN XP: [680m7(Build9118)]
- 2.0.2 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9011)]
And tried to reproduce the problems opening the documents from OOo File
dialogue, WIN File dialogue and WIN EXPLORER
- MRO-logo above the heading instead of right top corner with wrap left
- Rows in Table Document Update History 3 times as high as necessary

I was NOT ABLE to see any difference between those 3 Versions, the document
always looked fine as shown in OTN-PM-2.0.pdf in all 3 versions.

Only LINUX / MAC problem?
Solved with upcoming 2.2?

@ecdowney:
Still visible with LINUX and 2.2RC?

I want to add my $.02 on this. I've been pulling my hair out over this for a few
days because we have a similar problem, and it's costing us big: One new (Vista)
machine on the team upgraded to 2.1, and our docs aren't right there. I
installed 2.1 on my XP box to see if it was the OS, and we have the same
problems; ditto for Linux.

There are a number of little problems with spacing around images, font sizes and
so forth, but the biggest issue is that Heading/Outline associations are bonked
at level two for no reason I can discern. Level one is fine; levels three
through 10 are fine, but level two does not show numbering in the doc or on the
TOC. (Again, this is in 2.1; it works fine for 2.0). At this point, I'd be
happy enough if I could just get an install package for 2.0 for win32 so we can
keep working, but I guess the downloads aren't available on the oo site. I'm
looking elsewhere now.

Shall I attach an ODT with a Heading 2 that is numbered in 2.0 but not in 2.1?

FYI, a member of my team figured out a workaround that solves the heading
problem. It's a lot of work, but we're implementing it across the doc tree
because it's a better solution. The key is to use a named numbering style to
assign outline numbering at each level, and then explicitly assign that
numbering style to each heading style.

Of course, I'm still not sure what changed between versions to cause
outline/heading associations that had worked to stop working.

We are finding that .odt files created with 2.0 are being displayed and
formatted differently in 2.1. This includes several areas including wrapping
around embedded OLE components and images, and changes in font styles and sizes.
In effect, we can not use 2.1 with any of our hundreds of documents created with
2.0 without extensive manual labor. If this ever happens again, we will abandon
using OO because we can not afford this huge level of effort for no productive
reason. I can not find a way to submit examples with this bug report, so please
feel free to contact me directly for example documents, example results etc.
Thank you.

I have attached an odt file and how it was saved as PDF from 2.0 and 2.1. Note
the image has moved and the table is different size. The pdfs are faithful to
how the document looked within each OO also, it is not a matter of the pdf being
incorrect. The odt was opened in 2.1 and saved in case that helped but has not
otherwise been modified.
