I think this "bug/defect" is even worse than what some here say: it's not only bad for web editors, as when you make a carriage return after an e-mail adress for example, it DOES TRANSFORM the line to an hyperlink... So what? OOo creates hyperlink when we don't relly want it, and *damn* doesn't even lets us erase them easily? That's a huge problem, really, I'm IT operator, I know somewhat about computers, have a good feeling about using them and all, but when I go in the hyperlink editing tab, _delete_ the hyperlink line and confirm, I just expect the hyperlink to * disapear. Won't you? I must also say I love OOo, and am very grateful to you guys who do that work, but this bug is bad. Really. It's a pretty bad usability bug. I searched Help and didn't find the answer to how to remove the hyperlink (I searched "URL"). There's mention of the Hyperlink dialog and how to modify its properties, but not removing it. The current method is extremely non-intuitive, and I only found it through this thread. I second what has been said about a simple Remove button and option in the Contextual menu, the first places you look. When you have a Hyperlink dialog, you naturally assume everything you need to add AND remove links are there. A simple button can't be that hard to implement, surely.
