There is not known easy way to do this. Users must cope with styles, that is quite a heavy tool for such simple task. Must be also clear, that not all users need to use styles, and not all even want to learn styles. We should offer simple way to do it, just like the M$ Word does. For the user, page numbering should just offer a field, where could user specify a page, where the numbering should start from. Internally, the OOo could for example create different styles for the pages, or so. It dosen§t matter.
