pl-od: the reason is partially that the clip region is not set appropriately in
paintfrm.cxx for PDF export; attached is a patch that fixes that. However this
may not be a complete fix; e.g. when lineart smoothing is enabled in Acrobat
reader preferences, AR displays the clipped rectangle anti-aliased leading to a
fuzz around the contour. The question here is: is this a case at all where the
(in the sample red) background rect should be painted ?

Could you please have a look ?

OD-PL:
I have got a first look.
As far as I can see your patch is, that the SetClipRegion(..) call should also
be made for PDF export, correct?
Then, I have taken a look at the painting method of the intrinsic graphic -
SwNoTxtFrm::Paint(..). In this methods the conditions for calling
SetClipRegion(..) are different. Thus, I think we should adopt the conditions
in the painting method of the background this the ones in the painting method of
the intrinsic graphic.
Let's have a face-to-face meeting tomorrow (2007-12-07) - Is this Ok for you?

BTW, painting of the background makes sense, because the graphic can have
transparent parts.

In a text-file with a graphic, a contour around the graphic image is used and
background colour is applied. The text flows around the contour. Sample File:
http://www.mediafire.com/?dzhe9idosog
When the text-file is exported as PDF-file, the background colour is no longer
applied to the contour, but to the whole original rectangular graphic. Thus,
part of the text disappears and seems to be hidden behind the background colour.
