As far as I can tell, the files that show the problem are ones containing material that originated in OOo v1.x documents which were later put into the OOoAuthors v2.x template. And in a few cases, the original document was in MSWord before being put into OOo1.x. I will attach a file of that type. If I correct this file by reassigning the correct custom style to the Default paragraphs, save the file, close it, and reopen it, most of the same paragraphs have become Default again -- the same behaviour described by the person who opened this issue. I am using Ubuntu 7.10. Fonts are Times New Roman for most paragraphs; Bitstream Vera Sans for headings. In addition, if I change the font size defined for Default from 12pt to 11pt (so it looks the same as the style I want to use, when I save, close, and reopen the file the Default style has reverted to 12pt. When I open the document, I can only find two paragraphs formated as Default - the one following the table of contents, the other one numbered 5 on page 27. Both will be ok after turning manually into Text body. This will remain when saving and reloading the document. Tested on WinXP and Fedora. Do you work with native builds downloaded from OOo? This time I opened the document I see different parts as Default like the last line of page 10 and the whole list in pages 15 and 16. Maybe it was something in the formatting that caused the problem, maybe it was DejaVu fonts that I used before on that document and messed up the XML.
