No, there is no open issue regarding the visibility problem, because it is
already fixed in current OO 3.0 build which is available for download.

Ok, Thank you. I can see that the data is still there. However to the average
user since the document has been truncated to one page it looks like the data
has been lost. (This only occurs when saving as .doc, the behaviour is
different if you save as .odt)

I'm confused you closed this issue very quickly. Are there the appropriate
issues open covering at least the visibility issue?

Thanks.

It is not a problem of data loss - Writer does not correctly format the table to
display and the text is moved out of visible area. You can see this when
choosing "Table.Convert.Table to text" from menu.
I do not really know, if this special problem has been fixed - it looks more
than a positive side effect of another fix. the table model in Writer has been
enhanced throughout the last builds from OO 2.0 on.

What is the issue ID of the fix to prevent table data loss? What's disturbing
about this bug is that all of the text of the document since it was in the table
was lost.

The provided issue ID 84592 is for the open bug of the table not wrapping due to
widow / orphan control.

Already fixed in current OO 3.0 DEV build 300m27.
Though, the table won't break correctly on first page. This problem is handled
in issue 84592 and will be solved in a future version.

Adjusting the table row boundary in the attached Word doc and then saving the
document as a .doc causes the text in the document be lost. The original
document is 5 pages long. When the saved document is opened it is only 1 page.
The document uses a multi-page table to get a colored box on each page.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the attached document
(It's a .doc that started in word and has been saved
in .doc format by Oo writer.)

2. Go to the bottom of page 4.

3. Place the cursor on the edge of the light colored
box. It's about 3/4 of the way down the page.
The Tool Tip will say "Adjust Table Row".
Drag it to make the row longer.

4. Save the document, it saves as word by default.
Answer yes to saving in .doc format.

5. Close openoffice.

6. Open the file. All of the text that was in
the table will be gone. The document will now
be only one page long instead of five.
