When I tiped words correctly, it was no sign that they spelled incorrectly. When I tiped words incorrectly, it was sign they spelled incorrectly. On top of that, when I checked the spellcheck to see what it recommended instead, it had no options. I believe this concludes that there is nothing in the dictionary at this point of time for OpenOffice 3.0 Beta.
