Italics are ceased correctly even in the above described way. Do you have assigned any special custom quotes in Tools.Autocorrect options? The problem only appears if I edit MS Word documents created by someone else. I'll see if I can see a reproducible pattern and if so, will report back. For example: I want to type [of its own decision. But ...]: I do opening double quotes, go to italics ([apple]-[I], reflected in the toolbar by the [I] becoming highlighted.) type my quote, arrive at [.]. Press [apple]-[I] again, the toolbar reflects this, if i type a character, it is in normal type.
