Correct, e.g.

define changer HP_G2 {
    tpchanger "chg-robot:/dev/LTOchanger"
    property "tape-device" "0=tape:/dev/nst0"
    property "use-slots" "1-7"
    property "load-poll" "13s poll 5s"
    device-property "LEOM" "TRUE"
}

use of chg-robot and cleaning for HP MSL3040

2021-11-10 Thread David Simpson
Hi all,

Just wanted to double check the use of chg-robot which im using in amanda.conf
for an HP MSL3040 SAS tape library that this is indeed the right type of
changer-driver? (I have defined this stanza and think it looks ok).

The other question is around cleaning. Presumably when the library itself
alerts for cleaning, its up to the admin to fit it in around the backup cycle.
That's the way im reading the docs at the moment for this changer-driver.

thanks
David

Well, why not share development with the users within let's say github
or so, and get feedback etc along the way?

It's hard to understand why Betsol completely ignores (at least in
termes of patches, solving issues ...) the community edition for so long.

I think many of the ml-users here think so as well.
