Mixed output in amdump.n file

2001-02-13 Thread Michael Russell

I have noticed that the amdump.n log file has mixed output from
multiple sources in it at times - like from 'setup_estimate'
a 'dumper.' Is this a known problem? Any plans to fix it?
FYI, this is using amanda 2.4.2 on an SGI running IRIX 6.5.9f.

Here's an example:

mtisun:/export/home overdue 1 day for level 0
setup_estimate: mtisun:/export/home: command 0, options:
last_level 0 next_level0 -1 level_days 0
getting estimates 0 (208255) 1 (0) -1 (-1)

Re: Problem with Backing up 1 host

2001-01-19 Thread Michael Russell

Could it be that the firewall gets stricter rules at night? I doubt
the problem was an actual time-out, since three minutes is just too
short a time for an estimate time-out.

The firewall does not change rules. I, again, had the same exact
problem last night. Can I turn on some debugging to try to narrow
  this down? Thanks.

Problem with Backing up 1 host

2001-01-18 Thread Michael Russell

I am having a strange problem with 1 host. Friday (the first time for
this host), the dumps were fine. The last 3 nights have failed for
that 1 host - all other hosts were fine. If I run a test dump of just
that 1 host, it works fine. I'm running 2.4.2 on all machines - the tape
server is an SGI (IRIX 6.5.9f) and the problem host is a Sun (ancient
Solaris 2.5). For what it's worth the SGI is behind our firewall and
the Sun is in our DMZ - but like I said, amanda worked fine during the
day when I tried it by hand, so I don't see it being an issue with
that. Here's what I am getting:
