Pre/Post backup commands?
I'm using Amanda 2.4.2.p2 on RedHat 7.1 6.2, and it is great! Thanks to everyone that contributed to it. I'd like client hosts to do things like shut down database servers before backup, and then restart them after backup. Is there a facility to do this in Amanda that I've missed, or has anyone found a good way to do this in Linux? I've used the cron-job to do this on the server, but I'm not sure of the best approach on the clients. Thanks! Patrick
Re: Can load but can't eject tapes...
Instead of chg-scsi, try using chg-zd-mtx. That's what I use. I use the chg-scsi software.. i found the OFFLINE_BE.. in chg-zd-mtx, but is that connected in some way with chg-scsi ??
Re: Can load but can't eject tapes...
Hey ppl... I have a problem with amanda, it can load the tape on my DLT7 Autoloader from Tandberg, but it can't eject the tapes.. Try setting OFFLINE_BEFORE_UNLOAD=1. This will cause Amanda to issue a mt -f /dev/tape device offline command before attempting the eject. I have to do this with my Benchmark DLT7. Try it manually if you like to get a feel for it.
