AMANDA tape device on Solaris

2002-12-17 Thread marc . bigler
Hello,

I wanted to know for an AMANDA backup server running on Solaris which tape
device to use, currently I am using /dev/rmt/0bn but I saw some
documentation especially the RESTORING documentation which mentions using
/dev/rmt/0cn, so what would be the correct device to use ?

Regards

The same device should be used. I.e. if you backup to 0bn,
recover from 0bn. If you backup to 0cn, recover from 0cn.

See st(7) man page for a description of the letters.

In general, using the b versions (Berkeley style EOF) is
not recommended, but if something is working (and recovering),
don't change.
