It's interesting it could not bump to level 2 (if that would have helped). Have you changed the bump* amanda.conf parameters? You might post the results of running your amanda.conf through this (to remove all the comments and empty lines): sed -e '/^#/d' -e '/^$/d' >> planner: Dump too big for tape: full dump of servnix:/home delayed.
