nearly complete with NDMP overhaul ...

2020-03-06 Thread Chris Hassell
Will get some parts out for review within .. erm… two weeks?

Along with that, hopefully, we’ll be posting all our community client/server
binaries too.

NDMP question regarding amanda

2011-05-23 Thread Marcus Pless

We're considering purchasing an "appliance" from Oracle
that only wants to be backed up via NDMP commands. We've
been using amanda for years and are generally comfortable
with it's configuration, and I can see in the docs how to
configure a tape changer or tape drive so that they're
accessible via NDMP, but I'm not seeinng how to start the
actual dump/zfs send via NDMP.

Normally we just use ssh auth for most dumptypes but this
box seems to have all sorts of dire warnings about why
that's a bad idea. Am I missing something fundamental or is
this a difference between Zmanda and community amanda?
Thanks in advance!

ndmp and amanda

2003-02-25 Thread George Kelbley
Our site is installing a Network Appliance in the next month or so. We
currently use amanda to backup our linux file servers. The NetAp guys
tell us they think ndmp was getting rolled into amanda but I don't see
anything in a brief search. Is anyone using amanda and ndmp?

Has anyone tried using NDMP with amanda.

I found this code, and am trying to figure out how
to use it to back up my 1.2 TB box.

NDMJOB is a NDMP-compatible backup/restore package, reference
implementation, and conformance test. It is furnished in source
code form to the public by Traakan, Inc. and other contributors

Protocol) is an open protocol for network based backup enabling
multi-vendor backup solutions. NDMJOB may be used as a ready-to-run
backup package, used in conjunction with other NDMP products,
as the basis for new products, as a verification of NDMP products,
and as a reference of the NDMP protocol standards and conventions.
