amanda and large filesystems

Is there a limit to the size of a filesystem that Amanda can backup? if
so what's the limit? Does Amanda support ext3?

Amanda doesn't do the backup as such - dump or tar does that. So if dump or
tar can handle your filesystem, amanda should be able to too. It's a
question of underlying OS limits really. As to ext3, the same applies - if
tar or dump can see it, amanda can back it up.

However, you should point out that Amanda currently won't
split dumps over multiple tapes. So if your dump is bigger
than your tapes are, you have to split up the filesystem using
tar.
