auto-responder hell here

2004-09-03 Thread Gene Heskett
I just made a post to the amanda list, that generated 9 autoresponder
messages.

FWIW, I'm feeding them all to spamassassin with sa-learn -l

I consider such crap as exactly that, crap, totally useless crap at
that, usually brought about by someones overblown ego trying to
convince the rest of the world how important they are and without
them the world will stop. Well, I have a message to those. The
world can function, sometimes even better, without them, or me for
that matter.

So if when you all get back to work, and start trying to play catchup
on your email, do not be the least bit surprised if your renewed
pleas for help go unanswered cause they all get marked [SPAM] and
delt with accordingly.

Or to put it differently, most of the morons who auto-reply to list
mail these days really aren't doing it intentionally.

The ones that annoy me enough I filter to /dev/null in procmail.
Sometimes I send a nasty-gram instead. I rarely do both to the same
sender.

I guess I'm about to find out who today's brilliant 9 are...

Hi Mitch. I went back and recounted, there were only 7. My bad, but
they were standing on the only nerve I've got left.
