[AMaViS-user] Amavis on Qmail

2009-02-04 Thread Jake Vickers
I've found some old pages on installing Amavis on Qmail. Do those
installs still apply, or is anyone running it in such a configuration?
Thanks.

With each new release I just keep updating the old amavisd-new-qmqpqq.patch
patch so that it applies cleanly and compiles, but I'm not testing it.
I doubt that it is much in use, but in principle it should work as it
 did when written. Feedback welcome.

Okay, thanks. I'm going to give it a try in the next week or so, and
I'll update you on how well it does.
Thanks.

[AMaViS-user] Attachment filtering question

2008-09-18 Thread Jake Vickers
Does Amavisd-new have the capability of blocking zip files that contain
EXE files? I'd like to allow zip files, but only if they do not contain
EXE files within them.
Thanks.

 A follow-up,

I have looked at multiple products, but there is none that will meet my
wishes. What I am basically looking for is this :

 Message arrives from our isp
A program (amavis ?) looks at the subject, or at the X-Spam header line.
If (X-Spam-Flag: YES) then place it in (a) quarantaine.

Is this possible with amavis but without a spamcheck ?

I have looked at multiple smtp filters who calls perl programs, but we
have such a high load of incoming mail, I'm afraid that will cause to
 much delay.
Also procmail or Cyrus-Sieve is not an option I think...

I'd say either procmail or maildrop to handle this.
