Hi Ken,
Yep, They are a good little rig! I have one in operation, along with a
10B
and several 20A rigs. The manual for the unit is available at the BAMA
site under central electronics. Check your unit out for the QT-1 and
also
the ones I have seemed to come with only 80-40-20 meter coil sets. The
manual tells you what the colors on the coils relate to band-wise.
Unless
you only intend CW operation, you will need an injection frequency
device.
Mine is the 458VFO, so you will want to download that manual also as it
will help you understand the injection/mixing scheme for the unit. If
you
see some empty coil forms (5 pin, and 6 pin types) grab them as you can
make up the coils for the bands you want to operate.
If you run into problems give a yell, if I can help I will. So far I
have
restored 5 units in the series along with 2 458VFO units and they were
pretty much straight forward to get running. Ah yes CE recommends the
RCA
6AG7 tube in the final, different manufacturers made some changes to
the
tube so check that out also.
