Re: [AMRadio] New antenna at the home QTH
Great Mont. If the antenna police come you can call your antenna lawyer who can establish first hand that the particular antenna deed restriction involved was abandoned by virtue of 8 years unfettered operation on Club Oaks, We are looking forward to hearing you soon. I snuck up an 75 meter dipole (double bazooka type) that's mostly hidden by the trees so, hopefully, the neighborhood antenna police won't come knocking... The Ranger II likes it a lot better than the rain gutter so maybe some of you will be able to hear me next time I try. 73, Mont - K0YCN --- StripMime Report -- processed MIME parts --- multipart/alternative text/plain (text body -- kept) text/html The reason this message is shown is because the post was in HTML or had an attachment. RE: [AMRadio] 4D32 rig testing
Don, Well, so what? Collins runs them at over 700 volts in class C plate modulated service (32V series). If they don't arc over, and you don't exceed the plate dissipation, what would be the problem? I am also running 812A's and 811A's at 1700 volts or more without any problems, and some run them at 2000 volts! Cant say I have had any tube failures in the last 20 years, or had any go soft/weak. [AMRadio] Pictures of homebrew rx, new 4D32 project, other homebrew things
I have pictures of various things if anyone wants a look, the jay pegs are big, so beware if you ask to see something. I burnt them onto a cd so I could unload my lap top hard drive. Anyplace I could post these things? Brett N2DTS

I can't find anywhere in the manual where they specifically say wherher to use 600 or 700 volts except to use 600 volts for initial adjustments. They do say in the description of the HV supply The tube manufacturer recommends no more than 600 plate volts for phone operation, but this is for CCS rating. So without saying it I guess they are implying that 700 volts is allright for amateur use. The 4D32 is probably pretty conservatively rated. I have been running mine at 600 volts, but perhaps now I will try the 700 volt position. Still, I would not run the 4D32 at over 700 volts. Don
