Re: [AMRadio] CE100 audio problem

2003-03-03 Thread JCANDELA
Jason,

Try the exciter / amp combo into a dummy load to
rule out RF feedback. If the problem goes away then
you have a direction to proceed, i.e. too much RF in
the shack, improper grounding of the two rigs, maybe
you need some ferrite beads over the coax between the
exciter, and amplifier, etc. When operating into an
antenna, does it still happen with the mic gain at
minimum, or get worse when you pick up the microphone?

Jim

Re: [AMRadio] Trade nos Stancor A-3894 poly-pedance 125 watt modulation xfmr

2002-08-11 Thread JCANDELA
Jeff,

I used to use a A-3894 on my ultra modulated
viking I, and it was used as a Heising choke. Did a
good job. I used a 6L6 P-P to 4 ohm (50 watts at 7 hz
rating) transformer as a step-up modulation
transformer, and capacitively coupled the audio across
the Stancor. At 100 Hz and above that 6L6 transformer
was good for 100's of watts of audio.

Hey guys, sorry for not contributing in such a
long time. I'd kill for a place, and to have the time
to set up my AM rigs again. I am currently in
Shanghai, China on business. I was just out
buying 'bootleg' DVD's & VCD's. My laptop has a CD rom
reader, and WinDoz Media player will play VCD's for my
entertainment. The street price for these discs is
about a dollar each! So much for US copyright laws.

I was also at a few shops that had SW radios for
sale. Anybody hear of Kchibo models KK-939B (118 RMB),
KK-C560 (238 RMB), or KK-929 (108 RMB). One US $ = 8
RMB. These are tiny neat looking Digitally synthesized
AM/FM/SW portable radios.

73, and sorry for the long silence
