[AMRadio] 7190
Unfortunately, there seems to be a WAS net seems to meet on 7.188 MHz LSB in the mornings anyway. This totally tears up 7.190 when they are on.Just thought I'd pass along my observations... they have been meeting there for years too.de KX5JT -- Be Yourself @ mail.com! [AMRadio] 80 Meter Frequency -- Extra Portion
Greetings Listmembers, With all that wide open space now between 3.600 and 3.800 available... where are the AM stations meeting? I would love to find some activity on AM down there where there is plenty of "elbow room". Any thoughts? de KX5JT John -- Be Yourself @ mail.com! [AMRadio] re: 40 meter AM freq
Oh no we held our ground. Hey I use SSB as well but I would never intentionally start a qso so close to another qso to cause interference. It's not legal to do so and it certainly isn't the Amateur Radio spirit! It would be nice to establish a bit of an AM presence in the extra portion as well I thought. de KX5JT >>>Don't let the sideband drive you away. Just stay on the frequency if you are there first. I hear this game is played on the other bands too. And your carrier is more of a nuisance to them than their Donald Duck is to you. Bob K5MYJ -- Be Yourself @ mail.com! [AMRadio] 40 meter AM freq
Hey everyone. I don't mind the 7190 or the 7290/7295 too much except for the QRM! I was having a lovely QSO with Bernie W8RPW this afternoon on 7190 and the sidebanders suddenly appeared out of nowhere! We were sorta discussing how the extra portion might be a nice option. Let's face it fellas, it's NOT DIFFICULT to upgrade to Extra class nowadays. Maybe some activity down there will provide some incentive for Generals to upgrade. It sure is way less crowded! [AMRadio] 40 meter AM 7295
Okay! Lo and Behold! Calling CQ on 7295 and It's 9:18 am in Central Time land and I gave a few shouts I can hear someone trying to return to me.. my noise is up at s5 with "pulses" hitting up to 15 over but I can hear my call coming back to me in the static darnit now! Someone is out there! In fact, maybe more than one because I'm getting some weak heterodynes! I will not give up! Working nights though so I must sleep this afternoon to work this Monday night shift... oh man! I can feel we are going to establish some AM activity. Come on and play people! I hear a Whiskey 8... static static de KX5JT 73 -- Be Yourself @ mail.com! [AMRadio] 40 meter AM
Okay, I'll play! I will occasionally call cq during the day on 7.295 AM. In fact, Wednesday I will have the day off and be caught up on my sleep so in the afternoons, I will occasionally call cq afternoon. I live in South Louisiana which is Central Time. Let's promote some AM activity on 40 meters. If anyone wants to make a schedule on Wednesday afternoon, let's do it! Otherwise tune there often, give a CQ or listen up for mine! de KX5JT John in South Louisiana -- Be Yourself @ mail.com! [AMRadio] Success on 40!
Now see that didn't take too long! Less than a half hour of occasional CQ's and I am now in a very nice QSO with K4YBC from North Carolina. Solid into South Louisiana. But the SSBers have discovered us and they are trying to give us some grief. I didn't hear them when I first called, go figure. Whoohooo! My first 40 meter AM QSO, Thanks Dave! de KX5JT 73 everyone! -- Be Yourself @ mail.com!
