Re: [AMRadio] ceramic standoffs needed

2003-12-27 Thread Tbs50A
Hi Gary,
I wasn't paying attention to where that piece of mail was going.
It wasn't meant for the list. The caps in question are padders for the plate
tuning not loading. Johnson in it's infinite wisdom four 500v caps in
serise/parrell to make a 1kv unit which is still underrated. I figure 660v
plate
voltage + 150w of rf @ 8v a watt 1200v rf + 600v of audio in am mode. Add it
all up
and you get 2400v or four times the plate voltage on the final. So does that
seem good logic to you?

Re: [AMRadio] Triplett Panel Meters Needed

2002-11-26 Thread Tbs50A
Hi Don,
Are you work on a Gross project? I picked up a CW-25 over the
summer missing a lot of parts but on extra holes. I've made up some H-W
meters by photocopying the scale and then adding the logo and recopying then
gluing the 'new' scale on. Bob W2AMI has a few Gross rigs and some info. He
was kind enough to send me a copy of the original 1935 manual for the CW-25.
Are you looking for a BC-221? I found one under the work bench. It's
the wooden case version using metal tubes I think battery model with the
book. It has no tag so I don't know if the book matches the meter. No power
supply a switch has been added to the front of the wooden case along with a
pilot light. Fired it up with the shop power supply and seems to work ok. I'm
looking for some good 46 and 47 tubes also three 260mmfd Caldwell variable
capacitors. Maybe you can help.
Happy Thanksgiving
