Re: [AMRadio] 75 Meters Tonight
I'll agree with Todd on that regard about last fall and winter's radio conditions. By the time I got home from work, ate supper, washed up, and had some radio time, it was after 7:30 or 8 PM. 75 80 were so long by that time, I heard nada here in the midwest. I heard more activity on 160! The conditions on 75 80 were what drove me to get my Viking II - it had 160m capabilty. I don't think 75 80 started to beceom usable later on at night, until at least March of this year. 73, Ellen - AF9J --- On Mon, 9/8/08, Todd, KA1KAQ [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: From: Todd, KA1KAQ [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [AMRadio] 75 Meters Tonight To: Discussion of AM Radio in the Amateur Service amradio@mailman.qth.net Date: Monday, September 8, 2008, 11:56 AM On Fri, Sep 5, 2008 at 9:55 PM, Jim Wilhite [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: If tonight is an indication 75 is going to be a coast to coast band this winter. [AMRadio] 75 Meters Tonight
I just finished an hour long contact with Jeff/W0XV in the South of Mississippi. About 1/2 way through Robert/W0VMC joined in. While the static was present, it was not enough to cause problems with either station and their signals remained strong for the entire period. It was good to hear both stations, as many of the guys who have been around for 10 or more years haven't been heard in a while. If tonight is an indication 75 is going to be a coast to coast band this winter. Robert and Jeff both commented that they hoped there will be a huge representation of AM on the air this winter. So you guys clean the cobwebs out of the finals and prepare for a good season. 73 Jim/W5JO __ Our Main Website: http://www.amfone.net AMRadio mailing list Searchable Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/amradio@mailman.qth.net/ List Rules (must read!): http://w5ami.net/amradiofaq.html List Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/amradio Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.html Post: mailto:AMRadio@mailman.qth.net To unsubscribe, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word unsubscribe in the message body.
