Re: [AMRadio] New AM Swap list

2008-03-05 Thread Bob Bruno - K2KI

Hey Todd,

Yes, it's been a long time. Was wondering how you were doing.

I have been a member of this group for quite some time but was in
"lurker" mode.

I just got my hands on a DX-100 that I plan to put on the air. At
present, I have no working AM gear.
I also got hold of a Hallicrafters SX-42 with matching spkr. It's not
pretty but does play. Been looking for other BA's to help keep my coffee
& shack warm. In collecting mode Know of anything offhand? :-)

Glad the 75A-2 helped some ppl out. I almost hated giving it up but
C'est la vie.

Hey Bob!

Welcome to the group, saw your call listed here recently. It's been a
few years since we talked, hope all is well with you. Haven't seen Ron
or any of the guys from up your way in a couple years, other than
Earl. Saw him at a NEAR-Fest, IIRC.

You'll be happy to know that the 75A-2 project I picked up from you
some years back has helped others as a donor, including a member of
this list.

Cool! Thanks, Brian. I also appreciate the fact that I am automatically
signed up and don't have to go through that process. Great idea!

Rick/K5IAR

In an attempt to solve some problems with the For Sale and Trading on
the main AM Discussion list, we now have a new "sister" list called
AMSwap.

It is set up where if you press the reply button, it will reply ONLY
to the sender of the posting, not back to the list.

The members of the current AMRadio list will not have to do anything
to join, as I will automatically apply your membership to this new
list...

What's the old saying? You can please some of the people, some of the
time, Most of the people, most of the time but you can never please all

Good idea Brian, but I bet you are going to get a lot of flames from
people who don't like to be automatically subscribed to reflectors.

That should solve the arguments. I figured that is what you did when I
seen the 2 emails. Cool, thank you.

[AMRadio] New AM Swap list

2008-03-05 Thread A.R.S. - WA5AM
In an attempt to solve some problems with the For Sale and Trading on
the main AM Discussion list, we now have a new "sister" list called
AMSwap.

It is set up where if you press the reply button, it will reply ONLY
to the sender of the posting, not back to the list.

The members of the current AMRadio list will not have to do anything
to join, as I will automatically apply your membership to this new
list. When I do this, an email will be sent to you with instructions
on particulars such as how to un-subscribe (if you don't want to see
FS items), set digest mode, etc. Since there will likely not be too
many posts compared to the main list, digest mode might not be needed.

Be sure to put [EMAIL PROTECTED] into your address book, and use
it only to send trading type posts. Please do not use that list for
general AM Discussion either.

The AMSwap list is only for posting those items that are directly
related to AM equipment, however, towers, tuners, and other items are
of course accepted. If you have a list of AM type items, and you want
to include a modern rig or two, that will be fine, however the primary
purpose of this new list is for vintage AM type equipment.

QTH.NET has graciously agreed to offer us this new list after my
request. With the recent postings about how to donate money, etc., I
will post that info later on how to send them anything you would like,
and I do encourage the members to do so.

Please wait until you get your membership confirmation for the new
AMSwap list before posting to the new list.

Hope this helps...
