Be prepared for a battle from the rectum...I mean spectrum management
group in your area. Al, K1JCL had a 6m AM repeater in CT for years and
was harrassed to the point of shutting it down last year. Al's no
sissy either, he just got sick of the BS of dealing with idiots.

It's too bad that a friend of mine, George Whitney,
W5VIJ (SK) had old 2m amplitude modulation repeater
(yeah, that's right!) recordings of QSO's back then. I
thought that was way cool. Apparently this is stuff he
had recorded back in the late 60's. I wish I had
copies of those items to hand over to this effort.
Hmmm...I wonder if his widow is around. I may have to
 have a chat with her.

  particular site you
mentioned.I am looking through my archives of
  amateur radio stuff back in
  the 1970's.

I am starting work on a Plan to find,
  restore, and digitally archive,
any old recordings - on whatever media - of Ham
  and Ham-related QSOa,
conversations, CQs, 'log' recordings - anything.

I am a lifelong audio professional, and have
  the facilities to
  play-back
and restore anything, from Edison cylinders,
  early discs (including)
Recordio and other home type acetate and wax
  discs) wires, tapes, old
cassettes, etc., etc.

I can convert these materials into a digital
  format, do any
  'clean-up'
work, then make a CD/DVD and also an archival
  copy entry into a
  compendium
of this type of material, somewhere on the Web.

If you should send me anything like this,
  I'll convert it, then
  return
the original material back to you along with a
  CD of the restored
  audio -
all free for the price of postage

Please contact me privately OFF-LIST if you
  have, or know of, old
recorded Stuff of this kind.

Cheers
