For your info: These guys have BTA1R1's.

KC8OPP Roger P Stein, 4536 Fairground Rd., Celina OH 45822.
email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]website: http://photos.yahoo.com/kc8opp
check his listing at QRZ for a picture.

N2BC. WILLIAM D COLEMAN, JR, 513 RIDGE RD, VESTAL NY 13850
email: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
N2BC rebuilt his into a smaller 19' rack, and mutibanded it. I saw a
picture of the rebuild. It was installed in a 5-foot rack! with band
switch,
and vac variables, etc. Beautiful job. He even reinstalled the ID
plate
and large RCA
logo on the front. Looked very professional. I understand he
eventually
sold it.

These guys are regulars on the AMFONE.NET forum.

2006-09-06 Thread Larry Will

Hi,

I have been running a BTA-1R1 on 160 for several years now. It was
written up in ER awhile back. Contact me off the reflector and I'll
fill you in. I "grew up" on this transmitter.

Re: [AMRadio] BTA-1R

2006-09-06 Thread Rick Brashear

Hi Robert,

My first suggestion would be, if you don't have them, get every issue of
Electric Radio Magazine concerning broadcast transmitters, especially
the BTA series. If you Google RCA BTA-1R you'll get a multitude of
links that can assist. You might also want to contact Larry Will at
Larry Will <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Larry has written several

articles concerning his conversion of RCA transmitters.

I have a 1R2 that I am almost ready to put on the air on 75 and 160.
Hope this helps.

  Absolutely!!

After all, it is a Hobby, and I do have the main purpose of preserving
and using this transmitter on 160 and 80 AM Fone... so I hope the Readers
will forgive an Old Man who gets easily distracted trying to acquire
something he's been drooling over since he was a Kid...

  I know: I know, I know BUT:

I'm in Carson City. I have the immediate cash to buy the rig, and Ghod
Herself knows how badly I want one of those... there's just no way to
arrange a DX-Rescue that fast.

So - if possible, would you be willing to act as my (highly-paid) agent
for a bit?

I'd like to know if you can snag the rig, get it to somewhere nearby
that it can sit for a while, and then let me work out the Transportation
details - whether I come and get it, or have it palletized and
shrink-wrapped - details details...

Anyway I can PayPal cash to you and/or Scott, or FedEx the cash to him,
as in a pair of 100's - but I do need some 'help' on that end.

And naturally I'll be happy to compensate you as necessary - as long as
it don't break me...   ;}

Again, sorry I disobeyed, but I thought I'd ask you about this first
before I raise any flags.

Lastly, I have a nice little home business re-building and restoring
vintage car electronics and small motors... www.electricrestoration.com
(crappy site, needs work)... so if Scott can help us out on this - I'd be
happy to offer my services to him in return...

   Lemme know...

 Cheers
