> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6oDgUTHCwg > Hi Henk. Nice video. VA3FM had my callsign incorrect, it is WB3CSY. Hi Rick ! Thanks for correcting ! > It is very difficult to make a contact via HO68 with that equipment versus > the other FM birds. Indeed it varies a bit. Also it matches my own experience, sometimes easy, sometimes a challenge. Still, comparing it to AO51: yes, AO51 seems easier to work wrt uplink requirements, although this is not an apple to apple comparision, as I have not tried HO68 full portable myself. I have done a few tests in reducing uplink power 100...5 W to watch the effect. Maybe I should have made a recording. Others also mention the PL tone in combination with a busy uplink channel. What I like a lot about HO68 (but eg AO7 has the same - I know) is the relative large footprint, which enables contacts across the continents (EU/NA, NA/SA, EU/Afrika, ...) Maybe we meet eachother via HO68 ! Maybe via SSTV ? http://www.dk3wn.info/p/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/ho68_sstv_30122009.jpg HAPPY NEW YEAR ! Tomorrow morning EST we'll change over to our Kid's Day configuration, 145.88/435.300. The official ARRL Kid's Day window is 1800 to 2400 UTC, which fits nicely with the afternoon AO-51 passes. Mode change back to normal will likely be Monday morning EST. Go to http://www.dosbox.com Download DOSBOX for Windows. Run the downloaded file. DOSBOX will be installed. Dump your InstantTrack files in a directory c:\ITRACK Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/DOSbox-0.73/Configuration/Edit Configuration A text editor box will open. At the end of the text file in the [autoexec] section, edit the file so it reads as follows: [autoexec] # Lines in this section will be run at startup. mount c c:\itrack c: it Save the file and close the editor. On the desktop, rename the "DOSbox 0.73" icon as "InstantTrack" Click the icon. On 02-Jan-10 22:10, Bob- W7LRD wrote: > > > Anyone have any success running IT under Vista? IT text screens run fine on Vista. You get a few warnings but ignore them and it will come up. If you use Dos Box the graphics screens will work but picture is small and cannot be enlarged. It works good enough to use, handy to have Sun and Moon for pointing antennas built in . It has been a great program for me over the years.
