[amsat-bb] Fwd: HAMSAT Transponder Performance - Reg.
Dear HAMSAT VO-52 users, As you all are aware that HAMSAT VO-52 is completing 8 years of fruitful services in orbit on 5th May 2013. As usual, an 'Annual Performance Report' needs to be prepared and submitted to the HAMSAT Mission Management Board at the earliest. In this connection, I'm herewith forwarding the mail received from HAMSAT Operations Director requesting for the 'User Reports' on the performance of the transponder. Hence, on behalf of HAMSAT Operations Director, I request HAMSAT VO-52 users to kindly send us your valuable feed back/comments/suggestions on the performance of the transponder and the same shall be mailed directly to: tpran...@istrac.org and copied to: w...@isac.gov.in NOTE: We also look forward for suggestions and proposal for future transponders and orbit preferred for possible next HAMSAT from India. 73 de Mani, VU2WMY Secretary Station-In-Charge Upagrah Amateur Radio Club VU2URC ISRO Satellite Centre HAL Airport Road, Bangalore-560 017. [amsat-bb] 910 MHZ AMTV Reception
Just realized that my Icom R-7000 with the NTSC TV Adapter should be able to receive these signals. I've got a nice loop Yagi for 900 MHz as well sitting in the attic. Just sold the receiver on Ebay, but not shipping it until Monday morning--so may have to try to receive a pass over the weekend. Sounds like fun! I sold the R-7000 thinking that I'd simply replace it with a FunCube Dongle Pro at some point. Never dreamed that I'd have a nearly immediate use for my old standby. Ah, well. -- 73, Les Rayburn, N1LF 121 Mayfair Park Maylene, AL 35114 EM63nf 6M VUCC #1712 AMSAT #38965 Grid Bandits #222 Southeastern VHF Society Central States VHF Society Life Member Six Club #2484 Active on 6 Meters thru 1296, 10GHz Light ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. The project is sponsored by the Argentinean Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation. Payloads on this first mission include: an ARM based on-board computer a nano-reaction wheel with its driver circuit a low resolution camera all based on COTS components CubeBug-1 is a 2U CubeSat and uses a 1 watt output AstroDev Lithium Li-1 on 437.445 MHz using 1200 bps AX.25 AFSK FM packet radio, callsign LU1VZ-11. Depending on the mode of the satellite the beacons will be transmitted every 10 to 30 seconds. The transponder input is 145.940-145.990 MHz and the output is 435.200-435.250 MHz. On 437.225 MHz is either a CW beacon or 9600 baud AFSK. The VHF/UHF transponder and all other subsystems, except the stabilization, are doubled for redundancy. Where possible, both COTS systems and in-house development are employed. The power is provided using solar panels and lithium polymer batteries together with super capacitors. Satellite stabilization is accomplished using passive magnetic attitude control system with hysteresis rods. There is a camera payload to take images of the Earth. TURKSAT-3USAT launched on April 26, 2013 on a CZ-2D rocket from the Jiuquan Space Center into a 680 km Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Thanks to many and Dave KB1PVH I can now input keps in my computer all by myself. I read this in the weekly AMSAT bulletins The Castor 30 second stage motor, built by ATK, ignited for a burn lasting two-and-a-half minutes, accelerating the rocket to more than 17,000 mph. Engineers declared the rocket reached orbit, and the upper stage deployed a 8,377-pound block of aluminum designed to mimic the mass characteristics of the Cygnus spacecraft, which will take the dummy payload's place on the next Antares launch.
