[amsat-bb] 2M PREAMP
Mark, Is it still available? If so I'll take it. How do you want payment? Thanks, Gary AB3ID Snow Hill, MD ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author. [amsat-bb] ts790 split programming
I have the operating manual and followed the instructions for loading split freqs but I keep getting unexpected 2M freqs., just random changes from what I tried to load. Is it just a weak memory battery? Very little TS790 forum history for this problem or others for that matter. Off list reply is fine since this isn't really the mission of this bb. [amsat-bb] MD DE contacts
Loren, I have been working the birds for 2 years and know how hard it can be to get certain states ( I still need New Mexico for the 48 states). You just caught me between radios (I shipped my Yaesu FT-726R last Friday and expect my new radio Kenwood TS-790 no earlier than next weekend). I will certainly help you get Maryland when I get it hooked up. If I'm too late to be the first, I would love another Oregon contact. I can also do a portable using a W32A and log-periodic antenna to Delaware (less than an hour away) if we set up a schedule. 73, Gary AB3ID ___ Sent via amsat...@amsat.org. [amsat-bb] Re: s-band crystal
Thanks for all the on and off list responses. I have contacted ICM to get the right part. Less than a buck crystals are out there but not for 8.8125 MHz crystal for a LO of 2256 MHz, I guess I should have known that, my bad. [amsat-bb] s-band crystal
Dear list, Does anyone have a 8.8125Mhz crystal they can part with? This does not seem to be a standard part for Mouser or Newark (not really surprising). I am converting a Cal. Amp Downconverter p/n 130016. The conversion instructions suggest going to ICM but their web site didn't seem set-up for buying one crystal worth less than a buck Thanks, Gary AB3ID Snow Hill, MD ___ Sent via amsat...@amsat.org. [amsat-bb] w32a won't transmit
W32A Owners, I have a new to me radio that I can receive on and I beleive is set-up correctly. Full crossband duplex is turned on, autorepeater is turned off, squelch is open and receive band is set as main. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance, Gary AB3ID ___ Sent via amsat...@amsat.org. [amsat-bb] Re: w32a won't transmit
Thanks David, Tim, Patrick and Ted, Moving main band to VHF did the trick, Now I will be able to activate FM25 in Hatteras, NC on the FM birds this week, maybe even SO-50 when I get tones working for me. 73 all, Gary AB3ID ___ Sent via amsat...@amsat.org. [amsat-bb] Re: FM satellite operations again again over Europe
Thank you sharing some good operating practices that would make satellite ops in the US more enjoyable and equitable as well. 73, Gary AB3ID * Hi all in Europe, It is obviously about time to repeate a few good points about operating via the FM repeater satellites. 1. Do not transmit if you can not hear it 2. When the satellite is busy - limit the number of QSO's to ONE 3. Do not call over an ongoing QSO 4. A valid QSO just needs the call and the report 5. Give way to weak stations like /p and /m 6. Allow DX-peditions to make as many QSO's as there are callers That was the short version :-) I have a long version in English, Italian, Russian, Spanish and French. I can send it to you if you want it. Could use a few other languages like Greek, Polish and others. It would be nice if you can get it in your national journals. And please no flames ! 73 OZ1MY Ib ** -- __ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com ___ Sent via amsat...@amsat.org. [amsat-bb] Orbitron-Wispdde
I am trying to put together a computer controlled az-el rotator system with BS2 processor control like KO6TH using U-100 rotors. With Orbitron for satellite prediction and Wispdde comunication I do not get data display on the LCD display. The display works for other program titles. I tried Nova (demo) thinking the BS2 needed different input but still nothing to display. I used Free Serial Port Monitor and could see ASCI output that looked like what I wanted with satellite name, AZ and EL with numbers but the values did not match the satellite tracking program, they never changed! This was true with both Orbitron and Nova. I am using Orbitron 3.71, Wispdde 4.2, 4.3.0.7 and 4.3.0.2 modified by AD5JN. I have tried all the Wispdde programs at 1200 and 9600 baud. My radio is a FT726 so there is no CAT control there to confirm operation of other equipment. I have tried BS2 programs off the web from KO6TH and SAEBRTrack with out success. My BS2 is rev G and I am using a SC-IOREL4 relay board to mount the BS2. Demo display and relay programs run fine. I do not understand why the data into the BS2 isn't the same showing on Wisp panel. Any thoughts? Gary AB3ID Snow Hill, MD ___ Sent via amsat...@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author. Not an AMSAT-NA member? Join now to support the amateur satellite program! [amsat-bb] Orbitron-Wispdde rotor control
All, I've been trying to get my pair of U-100 rotors under automatic control from a modified version of KO6TH AZ/EL Rotor Control program for a couple of months and have come up against a show stopper to get AZ/EL data from Orbitron on the serial port to load into a BS2. The BS2 loads programs and will display static data into a 2-line LCD display with no problem. It seems to be just the Wisp-DDE data is not recognized and stored. I have tried the original WispDDE and the Orbitron-Wispdde code AD5JN put out on the web but neither seem to work. I've disconnected the ATN line on the program-serial cable when trying receive data from the serial port but still no joy. I am sure this will work if I knew what I am doing wrong.
