2014-06-11 Thread Keith Pugh
We will attempt to work as many of the passes shown below from Ham-Com 2014
Plano, TX, on 13 &14 June 2014 We have been given permission to use the
ARRL Centennial Call Sign - W100AW/5 for this event. We have listed both
transponder and listen only satellites and will attempt to utilize both.
Look for us there. I have attached it as a text file in case the formatting
below does not work out. Times are in UTC and only passes with peak
elevations of 10 deg or higher are listed.

[amsat-bb] AMSAT at HamCom in Plano, TX, 7-8 June 2013

2013-06-05 Thread Keith Pugh
AMSAT will have its usual presence at HamCom in Plano, TX, this weekend.
There will be an AMSAT Booth, Demos, and an "Introduction to Amateur Radio
Satellites" talk by Douglas Quagliana, KA2UPW/5. Come by and visit with us
and take home some of the "goodies" introduced at Dayton this year.

We will attempt to operate on as many of the passes below as possible -
remember, it's hot in Texas this time of the year and we may not stay
outside in the Blazing Sun very long. It looks like AO-07 will probably be
in Mode B all weekend and we have included HO-68 as a "listen only" demo on
several passes.

More information about HamCom is available at the following URL:

[amsat-bb] Demonstration Schedule for Dayton 2011

2011-05-16 Thread Keith Pugh
This year with AO-51 and HO-68 on the Sick List and SO-67 scheduled for
Europe and Africa, the schedule will be a little slim for the FM Birds. We
will do the best we can with the Linear Birds and the available FM Birds.
The attached schedule is in UTC and corresponds to the times that the Dayton
Demonstration Area will be staffed. Since this is an outdoor area, we could
have weather problems; however, the "Weather Guessers" are showing a good
weekend so far.

[amsat-bb] Demonstration Schedule at Dayton Hamvention 14-16 May 2010

2010-05-09 Thread Keith Pugh
We plan to work as many of the passes in the attached schedule as possible
from the AMSAT Demo Area at Dayton Hamvention this weekend, 14-16 May 2010.
The times shown are in UTC. Please note that a few of these passes are just
before or just after Dayton Hamvention's posted hours. AO-51 will be in
Mode V/S for this weekend and we will attempt to work as many of these
marginal passes as possible. There is a very low elevation pass of HO-68 on
Friday evening during the AMSAT/TAPR Banquet that we may try to work from
the Banquet Area. It has very good European coverage. Other passes of
HO-68 in FM mode will have the NW portion of Europe in the early part of the
pass. All of North America and part of South America will be in the
footprint later in the passes. We hope to work you on the "birds."

If you are attending Dayton, please come by the AMSAT Demo Area for an
"Eyeball QSO" and a look at the hardware and other demonstrations.
