[amsat-bb] Voice Telem for ARISSAT1

2011-08-15 Thread Michael Wolthuis
Was able to grab telemetry off last pass over EN73.

MET 60
I8U? +44deg C
Cpanl +30deg C
Bat Volt 35.85V
??? -16mA

MET 63
Same stats except voltage was 8mA

There was an additional voice telem, but was not able to pull it out at 1deg
off LOS.

Heard secret word, but was in spin when I heard it I believe and missed it.
On vacation all week, so maybe tomorrow!

[amsat-bb] Re: How to correctly log multiple grids?

2010-03-17 Thread Michael Wolthuis
If you don't separate them the electronic uploads (ie. EQSL and LoTW) think
they are duplicates and will not allow upload. At least that is what I have
experienced since asking the question.

Dave: Why do they need to be separated by 1 minute in the time field?
When I'm operating in the 10 GHz and Up Cumulative Contest (for
example), I can often make anywhere between 3 and 6 valid 2-way contacts
in 60 seconds, and they all get logged at the actual time that they
occurred (per my radio-controlled atomic watch (synchronized to WWVB
every early morning, so it is always accurate to 1 second or less)).

[amsat-bb] Recommended TNC

2010-02-02 Thread Michael Wolthuis
Can anyone point me to the recommended TNC for adding to an FT-847 for
digital satellite work? Are there special modifications needed? What
connector does it use on the FT-847?

Thanks,
Mike

[amsat-bb] Uni_trac 2000 question?

2009-11-25 Thread Michael Wolthuis
Thanks to many helpful suggestions and support from the AMSat-BB list I was
able to get the Uni_Trac 2000 working with Nova DDE and with Yaesu g-5500
and FT-847.Thank-you.

I have one problem remaining.

My uni_trac window for some reason is always lagging behind the tracking
that Nova is doing. I thought Nova would control the tracking, but it
appears it simply passes the satellite object name to Uni_trac and Uni_Trac
does its own calculations on the KEPs.

I made certain they are using the same nasa KEPs file for both Nova and
Uni_Trac. They have the same GPS coordinates entered and I have the same
height above sea level in them both (although on in feet and on in meters).

Does anyone have any thoughts? It seems that Uni_Trac is lagging or it is
calculating the KEP differently.

If there is a better listserv I should post this too, please advise.

Thanks again to all! 73s

[amsat-bb] Uni_trac 2000 sat files

2009-11-16 Thread Michael Wolthuis
Can anyone who is running a Uni_Trac 2000 or 2003 zip me up your .sat files
and send them to me by chance? My directory seems to be missing these and I
can¹t get it to create even one for an example. I¹m working on it, but the
easy solution would be if someone can send me the files they use.

Thanks!
