"SO67 suffered another anomaly which means that all amateur activity has
been suspended."
I think the translation is RIP SO67
As for HO68, the CAMSAT web page is no longer there
I take that as RIP HO68

Hi all

SO67 SumbandilaSat is back from 7 July with operations over the US. The
first day cover competition closing date has been extended till 31 July
Schedule is now on www.amsatsa.org.za  . Thanks
to the ground station team and engineers at SunSpace for sorting out the

This week SO67 will be operational over the Americas. See the schedule on
www.amsatsa.org.za  .  Note that the schedule is
what is planned. It may not always be operational. Much depends on battery
condition.

 

We have extended the first day cover competition till 30 June. Details are
also on the SA AMSAT web.

Europe again this week. The schedule planned going forward is as follows:

 

Till 22 May Europe

23 - 29 May Australasia

30 May - 5 June Americas 

6 June - 12 June Europe

13 June - 19 June  Central Asia ( if I receive the schedule in time)

20 June - 3 June  Australasia ( 2 weeks)

Hi there. 
Can anyone tell me if so67 is back on air for amateur use yet. I read on the 
http://www.amsatsa.org.za/ site 
that it's getting used for other mean's.
"Amateur Radio operation on SO67 will be suspended  from 18 April for a period 
to allow SunSpace to carry out tests on world-wide basis using the transponder 
that normally carries the amateur operation. The initial test period will be 
one month but may be longer if additional tests are required."

I thought I read on here that it was back on for amateur use?

Now that we have a week of so67 activity I am confused about the tone.  I am 
currently using the tone, and made 1 contact (new grid!) on the only pass I 
could work yesterday.  I'm also reading a few reports about not using the tone 
as the preferred method of working so67.  What is the BB vote - tone or no 
toneor doesn't matter?

Was a good pass of SO67.
Those who listened in via our webradio could confirm.

Heared various stations, including non-HAM.
Quite a few QSO's got made between eg ON5NY, EA1BYC, SP8CGR, 2M1EUB/P ...
Myself I had turbo-short QSO's with ON5NY and 2E1EUB/P.

Funny: I noticed my own voice being repeated a few seconds later,
guess that was the parrot. I did use the PL tone all the time.
