[amsat-bb] AO27

2012-12-30 Thread Vince, K9TSU
Since the AO27 website is out of date, what's the latest? There's a 90
degree pass on the next one here for me in WI. Is it working or not?

[amsat-bb] AO27 status

2013-11-10 Thread w4upd
Heard AO27 a couple of times. Both yesterday and today. Today I heard it
around 18:10 UTC. The telemetry was good and strong. Hopefully they can
get this old girl working again as well. It was a nice FM satellite
after the demise of AO51.

[amsat-bb] AO27.org

2014-01-20 Thread K4FEG
For those of us who occasionally check on the /*status of AO27*/, I
emailed /*Michael, N3UC,*/ and he told me that they have /*had a server
crash */and are in the process of getting it back up.

No additional information on the "Rescue Operations" for AO27 at this
time. Keep your fingers crossed folks! We may yet get AO27 back on the air.

Many thanks to the AO27 Group and their efforts to recover AO27 for
operations. We really appreciate your efforts!

[amsat-bb] AO27 UPDATE!

2012-10-15 Thread K4FEG

THE FOLLOWING IS FROM THE AO27 WEBSITE WWW.AO27.ORG

PLEASE CHECK THERE FOR FURTHER UPDATES!

Official AO-27 HomePage *Oct 15, 2012*
The command team has finished uploading the high level code to AO-27.
EOS is now running and we are checking out the bird. The TOPR schedule
will be on digital for the entire pass until we collect enough telmetry
and finish the on-orbit checkout.

We hope to have normal operations back up by the weekend.

[amsat-bb] AO27/TS2000

2010-07-31 Thread wa4hfn

Just installed a preamp Ar2 { Advance Reciever Research) M#  MSP432DG-160 and
the birdy that the TS2000 has on AO27 recieve  is now gone and I was able to
hear the bird from start of the pass to the end.Why ,I do not know, but the
preamp seems to kill the birdy . Has anyone found this to be the same.

[amsat-bb] AO27 life expectancy

2009-08-26 Thread John Geiger
Given that AO27 is 16 years old, how much more life are we expected to get out
of it? Have their been any estimates or predictions made recently?

[amsat-bb] AO27 - Last Man Standing?

2011-11-29 Thread Ted
With the demise of AO51, does this mean the only remaining FM sat in
operation is AO27?

(I thought I remembered seeing something here several months ago to the
effect that the SO67 ops were trying to restart that one ??)

[amsat-bb] AO27 and TS 2000

2010-12-26 Thread Mateusz
Hallo

TS 2000 users known very well how irritating is internal bird on 436.798
MHz. It is makes impossible(*) to operate AO27 at AOS, has to wait close to
LOS or forced to use preamp that is questionable in urban area. I tried
today to make QSO on AO27 just after AOS. I was listening in AM mode arround
internal bird and did QSO with OE6MDF.A few seconds after AO27 was off
(packet).

* - try listening in amplitude modulation arround internal bird :)

[amsat-bb] AO27 & SO50 Mutual Window, Possible QRM?

2010-11-20 Thread Rick Tejera
All,

A question. Friday between 2156 -2201 UT both SO-50 & AO-27 were visible
form my QTH (in fact they had a mutual window somewhere from about 2154-
2214UT). Both birds were in the same area of the sky, so I think it'd be
possible to hit both birds with my antenna pointed towards one of them.

Now for the question, since both bird operate on the same frequencies, (with
SO-50 requiring a PL tone), If I'm working SO-50 Wouldn't someone working
AO27 hear me as well? If they do and reply, Would I hear them from the AO-27
downlink? I know SO-50 wouldn't hear them since there is no PL (Assuming the
other station did not program in a PL).

Also if the other station did have the PL, what would happen if both birds
heard him and repeated the uplink? I imagine there would be some serious QRM
as the signal reach my station out of phase.

If we did hear each other and completed a QSO, I can imagine the confusion
when QSL's are exchanged

Just wondering.
