[amsat-bb] Re: Seriously Get Over It!

2011-08-22 Thread Dee
In Line with these continuous stream of reports-
If you send in for the Certificate-Please send in 1 report for each
type of reception. Please avoid duplicates, The certificate
generators do not need multi reports- Send all reports to the
ARRISsat-1 Team. They need the reports to keep the bird alive and
well.
Send in to the Certificates ONLY what is asked for. We ( Certificate
Team) do not have the capability (manpower wise) to forward all these
good informational reports to the people that need them. The
ARRISSAT-1 team needs your telemetry and send it in via the checkmark
on the software so the proper engineering specs get to the team.
I have listened many times and sent in reports. It is great fun to
hear the fruits of the team. It is going to get busier when the US
school system gets into full swing and starts sending in for
certificates for their efforts. Let's encourage the educational types
to include this scientific side of this bird into their curriculum.

Dee, NB2F

[amsat-bb] Re: Seriously Get Over It!

2011-08-22 Thread John Becker
Actually -

those of us in the rural area get the Internet by one of 2 ways.

1. dial up, slow but just like sunset it finely get's here.

2. satellite. With a bandwidth limit - once limit is reached
speed slows down to that of dial up or one must pay
more for the service.

Having said that how about just using that DELETE KEY
before the post is sent. That way no one is bothered.

It's so easy that even Ray Charles could see this.

The person re posting is the one that needs to use and
learn where that DELETE is not the person reading.

There is no 2nd option for us.

[amsat-bb] Re: Seriously Get Over It!

2011-08-21 Thread Greg D.

The OSCAR site does not have a way to collect telemetry data, and there is no
other place to post collected verbal telemetry and other observations. While
the satellite is being characterized, I believe the command team requested we
post our observations here.

If there's a better place, please let us know. I've not been posting stuff
here for vanity sake.
