Viktor, Thanks for the reminder.
Celestrak has the latest from Space Track, so if you use a program such as SATPC32 or HRD which automatically downloads the Keps, you should be good to go. Be certain that you are not only downloading the AMATEUR.TXT file but also using it, as it is possible to specify the NASA.ALL file. The current from Space Track, as of 1130 UTC, 11 April: ISS 1 25544U 98067A 11101.37628233 .00032616 00000-0 23573-3 0 1698 2 25544 051.6455 143.8057 0002743 098.2314 353.0153 15.73176289710387 Alan WA4SCA -----Original Message----- From: amsat-bb-boun...@amsat.org [mailto:amsat-bb-boun...@amsat.org] On Behalf Of Viktor Kudielka Sent: Monday, April 11, 2011 4:52 AM To: amsat-bb@amsat.org Subject: [amsat-bb] Use latest ISS element sets Hello all, In the following you see visibility predictions for the ISS generated with element sets 11 and 4 days old (from Ray Hoad) and new ones (from space-track). Differences of about one and a half minutes do occur. Even the orbit number changes ! Either you use the newest data or you should be patient ;) Vy 73, Viktor OE1VKW ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Element Set Number: 105 (Orbit 70873) Element Set Epoch : 31Mar11 21:27:39.138 UTC Date (UTC) Time (UTC) of Duration Azimuth at Peak Vis Orbit AOS MEL LOS of Pass AOS MEL LOS Elev Mon 11Apr11 20:58:54 21:02:49 21:06:47 00:07:53 188 135 81 9.8 NNN 71046 22:32:41 22:37:34 22:42:27 00:09:46 235 150 69 56.6* NNN 71047 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Element Set Number: 150 (Orbit 70981) Element Set Epoch : 07Apr11 18:09:13.138 UTC Date (UTC) Time (UTC) of Duration Azimuth at Peak Vis Orbit AOS MEL LOS of Pass AOS MEL LOS Elev Mon 11Apr11 20:59:48 21:03:46 21:07:44 00:07:56 189 135 81 10.0 NNN 71046 22:33:37 22:38:30 22:43:22 00:09:46 235 150 69 57.4* NNN 71047 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- Element Set Number: 169 (Orbit 71038) Element Set Epoch : 11Apr11 09:01:50.793 UTC Date (UTC) Time (UTC) of Duration Azimuth at Peak Vis Orbit AOS MEL LOS of Pass AOS MEL LOS Elev Mon 11Apr11 21:00:22 21:04:20 21:08:18 00:07:56 189 135 81 10.1 NNN 71047 22:34:10 22:39:03 22:43:59 00:09:49 236 155 69 58.0* NNN 71048 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- -- Viktor W.
