[amsat-bb] Re: Wouxun KG-UVD1P Radio

2010-09-21 Thread Zachary Beougher
Do you mean cross band repeater operating, or do you mean split frequency
operation (xmit on 2m and listen on 440) to work the birds? The Wouxun does
do split frequency operating, but it does not have the cross band repeater
function.

2010-09-21 Thread Matt Patterson
These radios also aren't dual receive either. Once there is activity on
2m, 70cm gets muted and vice versa. I intend to use one as part of my
V/S portable setup next week for AO-51. I'll use the Wouxun for the
uplink and a old TH-79A for the downlink.

I have heard guys working the birds using the Wouxun. The only thing I
noticed was that the audio seemed a bit lower. Make sure it is in wide
deviation.

Just my two cents

2010-09-24 Thread Gary "Joe" Mayfield
Mike,

Unfortunately, it will not. When you transmit on VHF it will quit
listening on UHF, or when you transmit on UHF it will quit listening on VHF.

That being said, it does hear better than my other handhelds which I
will admit are becoming a little dated.

Hi,
Does anybody know whether the Wouxun dual bander can be configured for a
cross band repeater.
Alternatively, can someone point me in the right direction where I might
find the information,
