Dear Alex,

You are right! We got same report from different country, we have confirmed it
was a software problem, we restarted the transponder then it come back to
normal.

Thank you very much for your valuable report, we are looking forward to hear
from you in the future!

That may be how it should be but I can assure you the carrier was on
continuously during the time I reported in my original post
(1331-1341 UTC) and it did not respond to my input signal.
I believe others have reported the same.

No FM downlink at all but I did hear the beacon up the band right where it was
supposed to be. 13B2, 70cm mast mount SSB pre, FT 726R.

Nice big footprint. My first time trying to find this bird. Congrats and good

Alan,

Tried on the 15.46 UTC pass on Dec 18th with the 67Hz PL but was unable to
trigger. Wonder if the FM xponder was on at that time. My ICOM 821H does not
have the CTCSS optional unit installed and I was using an application called
comtekk to inject the 67Hz tone from my PC using the acc socket in the
Radio. Let us know when the linear transponder will be available.

Ryan,

There is no carrier on the repeater until somebody turn on his uplink with
67Hz PL, or transponder will transmit PACSAT UI frame per 12 second if
uplink is idless.

I had the same concerns, until I re-read Alan's letter, which said
"XW-1 FM and store-forwared transponder will be turn on again between
1205UTC and 1352UTC on Dec. 18." The recent pass over NA was about
14:20UTC. Rats!

Glad to hear you're trying an omni antenna. Was this in a rural or
urban area? Did you use a preamp with this?
