[amsat-bb] Satellites with Transponders
I've had trouble lately keeping up with the launches of new satellites, and trying to separate those that carry experiments, beacons, etc. from those that have active transponders available for amateur use. Is there a list online somewhere that only lists satellites with active transponders? Any help is much appreciated. Lately it's been tough to keep SATPC32 up to date! : - ) A very good problem to have. -- -- 73, Les Rayburn, N1LF 121 Mayfair Park Maylene, AL 35114 EM63nf 6M VUCC #1712 AMSAT #38965 Grid Bandits #222 Southeastern VHF Society Central States VHF Society Life Member Six Club #2484 Active on 6 Meters thru 1296, 10GHz Light -- -- 73, Les Rayburn, N1LF 121 Mayfair Park Maylene, AL 35114 EM63nf 6M VUCC #1712 AMSAT #38965 Grid Bandits #222 Southeastern VHF Society Central States VHF Society Life Member Six Club #2484 Active on 6 Meters thru 1296, 10GHz Light -- -- 73, Les Rayburn, N1LF 121 Mayfair Park Maylene, AL 35114 EM63nf 6M VUCC #1712 AMSAT #38965 Grid Bandits #222 Southeastern VHF Society Central States VHF Society Life Member Six Club #2484 Active on 6 Meters thru 1296, 10GHz Light -- -- 73, Les Rayburn, N1LF 121 Mayfair Park Maylene, AL 35114 EM63nf 6M VUCC #1712 AMSAT #38965 Grid Bandits #222 Southeastern VHF Society Central States VHF Society Life Member Six Club #2484 Active on 6 Meters thru 1296, 10GHz Light -- -- 73, Les Rayburn, N1LF 121 Mayfair Park Maylene, AL 35114 EM63nf 6M VUCC #1712 AMSAT #38965 Grid Bandits #222 Southeastern VHF Society Central States VHF Society Life Member Six Club #2484 Active on 6 Meters thru 1296, 10GHz Light -- -- 73, Les Rayburn, N1LF 121 Mayfair Park Maylene, AL 35114 EM63nf 6M VUCC #1712 AMSAT #38965 Grid Bandits #222 Southeastern VHF Society Central States VHF Society Life Member Six Club #2484 Active on 6 Meters thru 1296, 10GHz Light -- -- 73, Les Rayburn, N1LF 121 Mayfair Park Maylene, AL 35114 EM63nf 6M VUCC #1712 AMSAT #38965 Grid Bandits #222 Southeastern VHF Society Central States VHF Society Life Member Six Club #2484 Active on 6 Meters thru 1296, 10GHz Light -- -- 73, Les Rayburn, N1LF 121 Mayfair Park Maylene, AL 35114 EM63nf 6M VUCC #1712 AMSAT #38965 Grid Bandits #222 Southeastern VHF Society Central States VHF Society Life Member Six Club #2484 Active on 6 Meters thru 1296, 10GHz Light -- -- 73, Les Rayburn, N1LF 121 Mayfair Park Maylene, AL 35114 EM63nf 6M VUCC #1712 AMSAT #38965 Grid Bandits #222 Southeastern VHF Society Central States VHF Society Life Member Six Club #2484 Active on 6 Meters thru 1296, 10GHz Light -- -- 73, Les Rayburn, N1LF 121 Mayfair Park Maylene, AL 35114 EM63nf 6M VUCC #1712 AMSAT #38965 Grid Bandits #222 Southeastern VHF Society Central States VHF Society Life Member Six Club #2484 Active on 6 Meters thru 1296, 10GHz Light -- -- 73, Les Rayburn, N1LF 121 Mayfair Park Maylene, AL 35114 EM63nf 6M VUCC #1712 AMSAT #38965 Grid Bandits #222 Southeastern VHF Society Central States VHF Society Life Member Six Club #2484 Active on 6 Meters thru 1296, 10GHz Light -- -- 73, Les Rayburn, N1LF 121 Mayfair Park Maylene, AL 35114 EM63nf 6M VUCC #1712 AMSAT #38965 Grid Bandits #222 Southeastern VHF Society Central States VHF Society Life Member Six Club #2484 Active on 6 Meters thru 1296, 10GHz Light -- -- 73, Les Rayburn, N1LF 121 Mayfair Park Maylene, AL 35114 EM63nf 6M VUCC #1712 AMSAT #38965 Grid Bandits #222 Southeastern VHF Society Central States VHF Society Life Member Six Club #2484 Active on 6 Meters thru 1296, 10GHz Light ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. [amsat-bb] Satellites and IT challenges
Just in case, hoping for some good tips/suggestions; IT topic 1: Funcube-1 Warehouse When I go to https://warehouse.funcube.org.uk/ranking.html?satelliteId=2 on my Nexus 7 tablet (Android 4.4) I get the explicit warning that this is unsafe. No other website gives this message. I knows it's an https site, but still. Any thoughts ? (ps: I just clock continue and it's all fine, but it still feels uncomfortable) IT topic 2: Triton-1 http://www.isispace.nl/HAM/ I have Bitdefender Internet Security as spam/virus/.. software on all my PCs here. Never I have seen it blocking a website. But: . this Triton website is immediately flagged as unsafe and blocked: so I did not go in. Any thoughts ? IT topic 3: AMSAT Email For the past 3..4 weeks my ISP blocks amsat, so pa3guo @ amsat.org does not reach me. Best way to contact me is via pa3guo @ upcmail.nl. .. Initially I thought it was my ISP, then I suspected AMSAT, and now I don't know anymore, but I hear more people in the Netherlands have this issue, also people with a different ISP, while other people with the same ISP can (!) use amsat.org without problems. It seems to be a sticky problem. Henk, PA3GUO ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author. Not an AMSAT-NA member? Join now to support the amateur satellite program! [amsat-bb] Satellites Status
Hi to the list, It is about 4 years that i was off the bird due to rifacing roof so i had to pull down my antennas system. In this week i have mounted again the antennas system and would like to test them. I went on the amsat.org site to see the satellites status and i saw that the web is changed since my last visit and cannot find the requested page. Any body can please tell me which are the satellites that still works and perhaps also the frequencies as i saw that they have been launched mew ones? Any help will be really appreciated. 73's de Enzo IK8OZV Inviato da iPhone ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author. Not an AMSAT-NA member? [amsat-bb] Satellites
I guess I am fortunate, I just came to satellite radio about 15 months ago, I missed out on the HEO's and all of the great Good Old Days of satellite radio, but in those short 15 months that I have been on the satellites I have some how managed to work 669 grid squares, confirm 581 of them (and Yuri still owes me 40), I have worked all 50 states on the satellites, I managed to work all but 1 of the Canadian provinces, worked 11 European countries, 8 or so Central American countries and 5 South American countries. While this may not seem like anything to the people that had the opportunity to make use of the HEO satellites, it has been a hell of a lot of fun for me. In the last week I have had no less than 2 contacts with stations that I was their 1st satellite contact. I may not agree with how things are being handled with AMSAT, I damn sure can't get enough information to suit me but I am not going to quit operating the satellites until there ain't nothing to work up there. And by the way, I worked all of my contacts with 2 M2 terrestrial antennas set at a fixed elevation of about 20 degrees and they are mounted on a Glen Martin 8' Tower on my back deck. One thing for certain if you get off the satellites you have for sure made your last satellite contact, Heck with all the beeping booping birds that are going up all that will be needed is a bunch of SWL's to listen to the telemetry! WORK 'EM TIL THEY FALL OUT OF THE SKY! That's my humble opinion! Everyone have a nice day K4FEG ___ Sent via AMSAT-BB@amsat.org. Opinions expressed are those of the author. Not an AMSAT-NA member?
