Re: [amsat-bb] satpc32 problems

2014-06-06 Thread Thomas Doyle
Hi Bob,

The question raised by you and others reminded me of a simple little
program I wrote a couple of years ago and never released. Ashamed to say
that I gave into PITA when I could not figure out the link between a Group
and its associated tle data file (perhaps there is no external link). The
program seems to work but was abandoned when I gave up and decided to write
my own tracker. I am sure there are many other similar programs out there
but if you do not have one this might help. Please keep your computer on
the desk and far away from the window.

If you try this program and it works for you contact me. If you have
problems with it contact Bob :-)

2014-06-05 Thread Erich Eichmann

Bob,
run the setup program "as administrator" even if you are the administrator.

There is a link on my website directly above the links that download
the installation ZIP files:

Read this before you dowload one of the files, please

Section B 1 d of the text says:
d. The folder also contains the setup program. Start it by double
clicking on the filename.

_IMPORTANT: Under Vista and Windows 7 right click on the filename and
from the menu that opens choose "Run as administrator".

[amsat-bb] SatPC32 Problems Connecting to TS2000

2013-01-18 Thread Richard Lawn
I've had intermittent problems with connecting SatPC32 to my TS2000 via
CAT. I finally determined I thought that the Keyspan 4-port USB-Serial hub
was the problem. I've had problems with it in the past so this wasn't a
surprise. I dug out another single Keyspan USB-serial converter, plugged it
in, had to reset the Com port to something higher (17) and tested it first
with Ham Radio Deluxe. Whalla it worked connecting at 57600 baud rate. But
I try to connect to the radio using the same parameters in SatPC32 and no
dice. It tells me that com 17 isn't available. What am I missing. I am
using VSP and could it be that I need to set up a pair. The ultimate goal
is to control both the TS2000 for uplink and my Flex5KA with downconverters
with SatPC32. It worked just fine including the Keyspan hub with my FT847
but not with the Kenwood. What am I missing?
