[android-beginners] creating an avd

2009-06-30 Thread ain

Ihave looked around on the internet for a solution to this. I have
tried creating and avd but this does not seem to work. I have been
looking around online for 4 hours and all the solutions out there I
have tried and non seems to be working.

when I try to create and avd using the following command

C:\Documents and Settings\Sam\Desktop\dotEXE\android-sdk-
windows-1.5_r2\tools>android create avd -n hellosam -t 1

I get the following error: Error: C:\Documents and Settings\Sam
\.android\avd\helloIan.ini (The system cannot find the path specified)

This is what am using.
I am using the latest SDk in windows and Ihave the Eclipese Galileo.
This is on windows XP. I am really stumped. I have restarted my pc but
nothing is working.

I have pulled out my hair enough.I am my wits end. I try to avoid
posting because I usually find my answer by looking through the forums
but so far nothing is working.

2009-07-14 Thread stephen rigg

Ok I've downloaded 1.5 sdk, release 2
After that I extracted the file. It brought me to the a screen
displaying add ons, docs, platforms, usb-driver, tools. Nd two links
fer documenntation, release notes
If im corrrect I believe I was supposed to click tools.
I then proceeded back to the site nd as it prompted: I put in the cmd
codes nd received error like messages.
If more questions of my problem r required plzzz ask
I need your assistance

[android-beginners] Creating an AVD

2009-10-05 Thread Trina

Hi,

I am using Vista. I have been trying to create an AVD, but have had
little success. In my directory I go to android-sdk-windows-1.6_r1/
tools. I then open the android application which brings me to command
promt. Initially when opened the command prompt says that I do not
have access and precedes to take me to 'android sdk'. So, I also
tried this under admin access, but received the same results. The
command prompt states 'no command parameters provided, launching ui'.
I then opened cmd and tried to go in manually with no luck. Cmd would
not let me open android-sdk-windows-1.6_r1. I am trying to do the
following command line:

android create avd -n -t [- ] ...

This is provided by:
http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/avd.html

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
